What is Nous?
A place to track what you watch and share it with people you actually know — post about shows and movies, rate and review, and see what your circle is watching, without an algorithm deciding what you see.
Is it free?
Yes.
Who can see my posts?
Whoever you choose for that post — your friends, or public if you post that way. There's a privacy setting in Settings that controls the default, and you can adjust the audience per post.
Do you show ads or sell my data?
No, and no. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown — the short version is we don't collect more than we need, we never sell or share it, and there's no algorithm or AI touching your account.
How does the home city thing work?
We guess your city once, automatically, from your IP the first time you post — it's how posts show "from City." It's locked after that so people can't fake a location, but travel mode lets you show a different city temporarily while you're actually traveling. If the guess was wrong, an admin can reset it.
What are streaks, points, and badges?
Every episode or movie you log earns points and keeps a daily streak going. Badges unlock as you hit milestones, and there's a leaderboard if you're competitive about it.
Can I change my username?
Not yourself, on purpose — it keeps @mentions and profile links stable. Reach out through Support if you have a real reason to change it.
How do I delete my account? Is it really permanent?
Settings → Data → Account annihilation. The request opens a private support thread for identity verification. Once deletion is completed, every post, comment, photo, and profile field tied to your account is permanently removed with zero chance of recovery. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How do I report something?
Every post and comment has a report option. Reports go to admins/moderators, who can remove content or act on the account.
How do I get help with something not covered here?
Support inside the app — it goes straight to a thread with the team.
